Name: Anna Pyayt
Institution: University of South Florida, Tampa, FL, USA
Description of project: I am working on biomedical data analysis. We want to integrate multiple biomedical tests to get a complete profile of the disease development. We also try to understand main ways of transmission to figure out how to proceed with safe openings of schools and universities.
Terms of collaboration: Besides the transfer of data, I would like to collaborate and/or get advice from the data provider. The co-authorship has to be discussed separately, and it depends on details.
Detailed description of data: I am looking for all test results related to blood or urine testing of COVID-19 patients. An example of such test can be found here.
It is a table with many parameters and values. In publications I mostly see aggregated data with averaged values, and it is not useful for my research. I do not request any additional data with that. This makes data completely de-identified, and there are no major limitations on use of such data, since they cannot be tracked back to the patient.
It would be very useful if the patients could answer just one question. Where do they think they got infected? Possible answers:
a) From a family member
d) Public event (celebration, concert, etc)
e) Work place
g) No idea
h) Other (answer typed by the person).
Handling of personal/confidential information:
The data will be deidentified, therefore it is not considered sensitive.
Status of ethical approval:
The requester will work with anonymized datasets, and does not need ethical approval from their institution. They are willing to work with the data provider to obtain any necessary ethical approvals to collect the data.
